Photos - FGS Dong Zen Temple - Lit Up The Lights

Last night went to FGS Dong Zen Temple (東禪寺) located at Jenjarom. It is a very famous Chinese temple and tourist spot and to me, it is like the Kek Lok Si temple at Penang.
Every time during Chinese New Year, the temple is decorated with very beautiful lights and lanterns with a theme. This year, the theme is 巧智慧心. Not surprisingly, when I went there last night, the temple was crowded with people who came to take photos and for praying as well. I took some photos too as that is my main purpose going there =]

iPhone 4 Tips - Remove Photos Imported From PC

Last few days, I accidentally imported some unwanted photos from my dad's pc into my iPhone4. There's around 590 photos imported. The annoying thing is that those photos cannot be removed like any other photo taken using iPhone4 itself (I'm using iOS 4.2.1). However after some googling, I found a solution in a forum discussion.

Basically, what we need to do is just to re-sync our iPhone using iTune by choosing some settings as highlighted in image below:

After selecting the settings, go to File menu on the top left menu and choose "Sync ..." and that's it. The photos are being removed!

Just wonder why those photos cannot be removed the same way as the photos taken using iPhone itself. A little bit annoying and disappointed.

Photoshop Tips - Photoshop Action

Photo editing can be very time consuming especially when you have hundreds (or even thousands!) of photos that you took during gathering with friends, events or any other photo shooting functions. Sometime, I'm so lazy and kind of phobia when see the raw photos out there waiting for post editing. But recently, I found a very useful feature inside photoshop. That cool feature is called photoshop action (when you save it, it will have .atn extension to the file). This feature is really awesome!

With photoshop action, you can save up a lot of time on the post editing. It basically record down your steps / actions performed when you editing the photo. You can then save the steps to an .atn file, which you can use it to process series of photos with same effect, same tone and same feel. Besides saving the photo editing time, you can standardize the photos tone, or the theme that you want for particular event. Let's say for example, you are taking photos for wedding event, you can create an action file with memorable sepia theme (credit to the tutorial author for the memorable sepia feel). You can then apply that same action to the rest of the photos for the same event by just play back the action file you created. Simple and easy huh?

Summary of Year 2010; Targets for upcoming year...

Year 2010 will be ended in less than 2 weeks from now. What had I done in this year? A lot...

Early this year, I'd posted an entry of my plans for this year. So now, let's review and see what have I achieved. >.<"

Work
Do I meet my own expectation that I'd set for this year? Honestly, there is not much changes or improvements that I can see for myself. In fact, no improvement in IT field is bad. It is very hard to advance to next level if we stay at current position with what we have got. But, the rapid changing of technology make it hard for the developers to learn with same pace. I've seen some of my friends quitting this field or stop to do programming. I do not know how long I can stay in this field, and how many new things / technologies I can absorb. Sometime, I was thinking of what can I do if I quit this field? Currently, I can't think what else I can do to survive besides programming, so, what I need to do is keep learning. Hope that in the coming year 2011, I will be better than this year.

Family
My sister get married this year. Being her brother, I really very happy and I always wanted her to live happily. Now, she has her husband taking care of her and protecting her. I hope good health will always be with her and all my family members, and wish that she can fast fast born a cute cute baby next year. That will be perfect! Haha...

Relationship
Too bad that I'm still single this year. Hahaha... But I think it is OK though. Recently a girl told me that girls are not hard to entertain, but they want people to care and what so called 哄 in chinese. Is it true? What if the guy who care for you is not the one you like? Will a girl still consider him? She also said that I still need to read more books if I want to win a girl's heart. I don't know what will happen next year, but sometime I also hope that there is someone that I can share everything that happens on me, and that someone, will be the one that I love, the one that I want to care for and probably will be my last one. I know that I can't always ask for more but will try to take initiative instead of do nothing and just wait for the result.

My Wish List Items
I've got what I wish for this year. My first DSLR camera and a smart phone =] This is my greatest achievement for this year? OMG! I would rather I achieve something else from my career or relationship instead of this... >.<"
Anyway, greediness is a natural behavior of human beings and it is also a motivation towards a better tomorrow. I also have something in my mind that I would like to own next year, but let's just not list it out here. Let's see how next year end XD

夕阳无限好，只是近黄昏

夕阳是很漂亮，可是那只是一个短暂的时光。一瞬间，那美丽的夕阳就会消失在眼前。而取而代之的将会是寂寞的夜晚。
如果要我选出一天里我最不喜欢的时段，那将会是黄昏。一直以来，黄昏给我的感觉是很悲、很没有气息的。而我的心情也会受到影响。
最近，生活作息有点颠倒，没有足够和定时的睡眠，也很忙。整个人都提不起劲来。好累。。。难道这就是我想要的生活吗？不过，当我把要做的事情做完了，不忙了，我却觉得有点空虚。好像没有了奋斗的目标，失去了方向。
上个星期，去了槟城一趟，为了是出席我大学同学的婚礼，也同时和旧同学叙叙旧。在槟城的那几天，我住在一个旧同学的家，他也特地请了两天的假期来陪我。很不好意思麻烦到他，也非常谢谢他的陪伴。他是一位很有才干的人，我也很佩服他。他很有自己的想法，也很有恒心去完成他所想做的事。他总不会浪费空出来的时间。看到他的成就，我很心虚、很自卑。如果我也能像他一样的勤劳和耐心，那该有多好。其实我一直以来都会提醒自己，不要浪费时间，要为自己的将来好好打算，但是，我总是不能好好的去完成一件事。每次都马马虎虎、草草了事。这样下去，我不知道我的将来会如何。
我的家境并不富有，什么事我都要自己去承担，也不想让家人操心，毕竟我也不小了。很多事都得要自己去决定，将来的路也要自己去走。有时，我也很恨自己的懦弱。我不能总说自己是家中最小的，受保护，每次都等人来搭救我。没有人会有责任来搭救我，来帮我。我不可以再沉睡在我自己的世界了！我很想改变自己的命运，我能做到更好！
我明白，成功并不容易，也不是每个人随随便便说了，就能成功。要成功，就要付出。我不敢期盼太多，不想争第一，只想做到无愧于自己、家人，那就满足了。希望，我能做出点成绩给爸爸看，让他为我而骄傲。
人生真的没有几个十年来浪费！加油！

Trip to Penang - September 2010

Last weekend, I went to Penang for a 3 days trip. It's almost a year back of my last trip to Penang. To me, Penang is a place where I'd stayed for four and a half years. I obtained my degree cert in USM, and spent more than 1 year working there. Do I familiar with Penang? I do not know =]

When people talk about Penang, it's almost certainly cannot miss out the local foods there and some of the very well know tourist spots to visit. I tried some of the foods there also on this trip and all are nice!







Penang Laksa is always not my favorite, but I did try a spoon of it. I think I can slowly accept the taste of it and will try more of it in the future when I visit to Penang again.

I'd also visited some of the tourist spots on this trip, including Kek Lok Si, Toy Museum, Khoo Kongsi as well as Gurney Drive. Thanks to my friends who brought me around the island and patiently waiting for me to take the photos.







I enjoyed a lot for this trip and glad to see some of my ex course mates. I know it is hard to get everyone to gather nowadays coz everyone has own thing to busy on. Although we aren't meeting each other very often, seldom contacting each other except special occasion, you all are still my best friends! I hope our friendship can last forever!

Hopefully, my next trip to Penang, I will be able to meet up more friends there. Thanks Simon, Hooi Leng, Jih In for driving me around the islands and accompanying me to take the photos. Thanks Seikan, Grace, Amy and Mee Ling to present in the gathering. See you all again soon!
